Every list in this section ranks the same small group of rings sold to US buyers: Oura, RingConn, Samsung's Galaxy Ring, Ultrahuman and Circular. What changes from page to page is the question being answered. If you're not sure where to start, start with the best smart rings without a subscription, the ranking this whole site is built around. Settle the fee question first

The biggest difference between smart rings isn't a sensor. It's whether you keep paying after checkout. Oura needs a membership for most of its insights; without it, Oura says you see three daily scores plus battery, profile and settings. RingConn, Samsung and Ultrahuman require no fee, and Circular says it has no forced subscription. Decide this before you fall for a feature, because it rules out half the market in one step and it keeps costing you for as long as you wear the ring. If you've already decided a monthly bill for your own sleep data is a dealbreaker, the rankings here give you plenty to choose from. If you're willing to pay, several pages name the best-evidenced option for you too, and say plainly what the fee buys.

iPhone or Android changes the list

Your phone removes rings before anything else does. The Samsung Galaxy Ring works only with Android, and some of its features, including Find My Ring and Energy Score insights, need a Samsung phone. RingConn needs iOS 17 or Android 10 or newer. Oura works on both. Ultrahuman doesn't state the Ring PRO's phone requirements on the US pages we checked. Size before you shop

No brand says its sizes match another brand's, and several say outright that theirs differ from standard ring sizes. Oura even says its sizing differs between its own generations. So your jewelry size is a starting guess, not an answer. Every brand ranked here offers a sizing kit; use the one for the ring you're actually buying. Size ranges also differ: some rings start at 4 or 5, and only three go up to 15. Read battery claims as claims

Every battery figure on these pages is the maker's claim under the maker's conditions, and we label it that way. Some brands tie it to ring size: Samsung rates smaller Galaxy Rings at a day less than sizes 12 and 13, and Oura qualifies its Ring 5 figure with “depending on ring size and usage.” Where a named reviewer reported a real-world figure, we cite it. We haven't worn or lab-tested these rings, and we don't pretend to. “Best” here is an editorial ranking from a published rubric: cost of ownership over three years, published accuracy evidence, claimed battery, sizing and fit, data ownership and phone support, with the weights and reasoning on our methodology page.
