Every ring's claimed battery life

Here is what each maker says one charge will give you, and what the charging case adds where one comes in the box. Every figure is the maker's own number, linked to the page it came from. We haven't run battery tests on any of these rings. Where a reviewer published what they actually got, we say so further down.

The spread runs from Oura Ring 4's “typically 5-8 days” to Ultrahuman's “up to 15 days.” Look at the small words doing the work: “up to,” “typically,” “depending on.” They aren't filler. They're where each number's conditions live, and they're why two rings with the same headline can behave very differently on your finger.

Battery is one of six things we score on our published ring rubric, worth 15% of a ring's overall score. It ranks below cost of ownership and accuracy evidence on purpose: a ring that lasts two weeks but charges you a monthly fee, or reads your heart rate badly, isn't a bargain. The conditions behind each number

Put the claims next to the conditions the makers attach to them and the picture gets clearer. None of these figures came from the same test, so they aren't directly comparable. They're each brand's best case under its own rules.

Two patterns stand out. First, size: Oura and Samsung both tie battery life to ring size in writing. Samsung is the most specific, saving its 7-day figure for sizes 12 and 13 (Samsung). Second, settings: RingConn, Circular and Ultrahuman all quote a better number for a lighter setup and a worse one when you turn more on.

What reviewers reported

A maker's figure is a ceiling. The more useful number is what someone got wearing the ring day to day. Here's every reviewer figure we could find and cite:

• Oura Ring 5: DC Rainmaker reported 6-7 days in his July 2026 review, the lower part of Oura's 6-9 day claim (DC Rainmaker).
• RingConn Gen 3: The Gadgeteer's reviewer got about 10 days with vibration alerts on. That sits at the bottom of RingConn's alerts-on range and 4 days short of the headline 14 (The Gadgeteer).
• Samsung Galaxy Ring: GSMArena got about 5 days from a size 11, where Samsung claims up to 6 for that size.
• Ultrahuman Ring PRO: the5krunner's write-up says the 15 days applies in Chill Mode and puts Turbo Mode at around 12. Treat that as the mode split, not a long-term battery test.

In all three cases where a reviewer published a number from wearing the ring, the result landed in the lower part of the maker's range or under it. Three reviews isn't a study, but it's a consistent enough pattern to plan around: budget for the low end of the claim, not the headline. We found no reviewer figure for RingConn Gen 2, Gen 2 Air or Circular Ring 2, so for those the maker's number is all there is.

You can get a better number than any of these for your own ring. Over the first two weeks, note how many days a full charge lasts with the settings you'll actually use. That's your real battery life, in your size and with your habits, and it's the baseline to watch as the battery ages.

What drains a smart ring battery

The makers point to three things in their own fine print. We'll stick to those rather than guess how many hours each sensor costs, because none of the brands publish that breakdown on the pages we cite.

1. Ring size

A smaller ring holds a smaller battery. Oura's safety page lists its battery at 15 mAh in a US size 6 and 22 mAh in a US size 13 (Oura Support), which fits with its “depending on ring size” caveat. Samsung makes the same point in its footnote. If you wear a small size, expect the low end of any claim. 2. Features and modes

More measuring and more buzzing cost battery. RingConn's own Gen 3 figures drop with vibration alerts switched on. Circular quotes 8 days in power mode and 5 in performance mode. Ultrahuman's headline, per the5krunner, is a Chill Mode number. If a feature you care about only runs in the higher mode, the lower figure is your real one.

3. How you use it

Oura's “usage” caveat covers everything else: how often you open the app, how much you exercise, and what you've turned on. It's vague because it has to be. Two owners of the same ring in the same size can see different numbers.

One more thing shortens battery life, and no setting fixes it: age. Batteries hold less charge as they wear, and smart ring batteries are sealed in. Ultrahuman says to expect “a gradual reduction in battery life” after 1 to 2 years on its Ring AIR. We cover that in how long a smart ring battery lasts in years.

How a charging case changes the math

Days per charge matter less if the ring comes with a case that recharges it away from the wall. That's the biggest difference between these rings, and it's easy to miss on a spec sheet:

• RingConn Gen 2: 10-12 days per charge, “Extended Up to 150 Days With Charging Case” (RingConn).
• RingConn Gen 3: 11-14 days per charge, “150+ Days Total with Charging Case.”
• Ultrahuman Ring PRO: up to 15 days, up to 45 with the included PRO Charging Case.
• Samsung Galaxy Ring: up to 7 days, up to 14 with a full charging-case charge.
• No case included: Oura Ring 5 and Ring 4. RingConn doesn't list one for Gen 2 Air, and Circular doesn't state one for Ring 2.

For a week away, any case works. For a month of travel, only the RingConn and Ultrahuman cases claim to cover it without a wall outlet. Our smart ring chargers and charging cases roundup ranks them and covers what Oura owners can add, since Oura includes no case.

Oura Ring battery life

Oura is the most searched ring, so here's its battery picture on its own. Oura Ring 5 claims “up to 6-9 days of battery life, depending on ring size and usage” ( Oura), and DC Rainmaker reported 6-7. Oura Ring 4 is “typically 5-8 days.” Neither comes with a charging case. Both carry a one-year warranty that excludes batteries as consumables, and Android Authority reported that Oura's pre-IPO filing tied a jump in warranty expenses to Ring 4 battery problems.

What to look for if battery matters to you

1. The low end of the claim in your size. If the maker ties battery to size, find your size's figure. Then assume a bit less.
2. A case in the box. It changes charging from a weekly chore to an occasional one, and it costs nothing extra when it's included.
3. The features you'll actually run. If you want vibration alerts or a performance mode, use the maker's lower figure.
4. Battery terms in the warranty. Oura excludes batteries; RingConn excludes normal capacity loss but sells optional US protection that counts the battery as part of the device.
5. Whether you can buy it now. Ultrahuman's ring has the biggest single-charge claim, but it's a US pre-order from Ultrahuman's store and isn't sold on Amazon.com.

Battery mistakes to avoid

• Comparing headline numbers across brands. Each claim was made under that brand's own conditions. A 14-day claim with alerts off and a 7-day claim for the largest sizes aren't measuring the same thing.
• Forgetting your size. Small sizes hold smaller batteries. Size the ring properly first with the brand's own kit; our smart ring sizing guide walks through it.
• Buying a case for a ring that already has one. RingConn Gen 2 and Gen 3, Ultrahuman Ring PRO and Galaxy Ring include theirs.
• Assuming day-one battery lasts for years. The battery is sealed, and a warranty that excludes normal battery fade won't help when it fades.
