Ultrahuman Ring PRO review: the no-fee ring you have to wait for

How this review was built

We haven't worn, owned or lab-tested an Ultrahuman Ring PRO, and in the US it's still a pre-order. This review is built from Ultrahuman's US buy page, product page, FAQ, terms of sale and HSA/FSA page, the US Customs ruling that cleared it, and press coverage of its launch and delays, all linked below.

On our ring rubric (how we score), the Ring PRO scores 6.9 out of 10. It gets full marks for battery and 9 out of 10 for cost of ownership (no required fee, but optional paid extras), then loses most of its ground on evidence (2 out of 10: no independent validation) and phone support (5 out of 10, because Ultrahuman doesn't publish the PRO's phone requirements). It ranks fourth in our best smart rings without a subscription. Many US searches for Ultrahuman are about the ring before it, so we start there.

What happened to the Ring AIR in the US

The short version: Oura won a patent case at the US International Trade Commission, the Ring AIR was shut out of the US, and Ultrahuman came back with a redesigned ring that US Customs cleared. The dates, from the documents:

1. August 21, 2025: the exclusion order. The ITC issued a Limited Exclusion Order in investigation 337-TA-1398, covering claims of Oura's US Patent 11,868,178. The respondents named were Ultrahuman entities, RingConn, Guangdong Jiu Zhi Technology and Circular SAS, per the text of the later Customs ruling (CBP).
2. October 21, 2025: final. Oura says the ITC's ruling that Ultrahuman and RingConn infringed became final after Presidential review. RingConn then settled with a license; Ultrahuman's route back was a redesigned ring (Oura).
3. The AIR disappears. The Gadgeteer reported that after the ban, “Ultrahuman's Ring Air disappeared from Amazon and major U.S. retailers” ( The Gadgeteer).
4. March 6, 2026: the redesign is cleared. In ruling H354023, US Customs and Border Protection found that “Ultrahuman has met its burden to show that the Ring Pro (‘redesigned ring’) ... is not subject to exclusion from entry.” Entry is “conditioned on certain terms, including the drafting and approval of a certification,” and the ruling notes that ITC determinations “will modify or revoke any contrary CBP ruling.”
5. March 24, 2026: US pre-orders open for the Ring PRO, per Ultrahuman's press release (Ultrahuman).
6. Then the dates slipped. Athletech reported shipping “set to begin May 15.” TechTimes reported it “began shipping worldwide on June 20, 2026.” Gadgets & Wearables (July 3) reported an August 10 date for Kickstarter backers and store orders, and Yahoo Tech (July 8) reported shipments pushed to “August 10 onwards.” When we checked in September, Ultrahuman's US buy page said “Shipping October 10th onwards.”

If you already own a Ring AIR, or you're reading a Ring AIR review written outside the US, two lines from Ultrahuman's own AIR FAQ matter more than any feature list. The battery is rated for about 500 charge cycles, and “A gradual reduction in battery life can be expected after 1 to 2 years.” The warranty “lasts for one year from the date of delivery,” and battery replacements beyond it aren't covered (Ultrahuman). What that history means for a buyer: the Ring PRO is legal to import today, but its US status rests on a Customs ruling that the ITC could override, and on a certification process. We don't predict court outcomes. We just think you should know the ground it stands on before you pre-pay. RingConn, which settled, and Circular, which has held an Oura license since June 2024, sell under licenses instead.

What you pay over three years

No required fee. Ultrahuman's buy page says “there are no recurring subscription fees for accessing your data,” and its press release promised “No mandatory subscription. No paywall. No compromise.”

The optional extras are real, though, and worth knowing before you assume every feature is included. On the US buy page, Ultrahuman lists paid PowerPlugs, including Cardio Adaptability at $24/year and Cycle & Ovulation Pro at $39/year (its HSA page lists the latter at $39.99), and optional UltrahumanX coverage “Starting at $36/year,” which covers accidental damage and one Ring PRO replacement. the5krunner reported in May that PowerPlugs would be free for the first 12 months, with later pricing undisclosed, so check what applies when you order. None of these are required to see your data.

What the evidence says

We found no independent validation of the Ring PRO. The only accuracy data Ultrahuman publishes is an in-house pilot on the older Ring AIR: 6 volunteers and 36 sleeps, compared with the SleepImage ring and an Apple Watch, with a mean absolute error of 2.4-2.6 bpm for sleeping heart rate and a bias of -1.2 to -1.8 bpm (Ultrahuman).

the5krunner put it plainly in May 2026: “Independent testing will be the key test - watch this space.” Until that testing exists, the Ring PRO scores 2 out of 10 on evidence, the same as the Galaxy Ring and Circular Ring 2. Battery, sizing and phones

Battery. Ultrahuman claims “Up to 15 days battery life” and “Up to 45 days with PRO Charging Case,” and the case is in the box along with a USB-C cable. the5krunner reported the 15 days is in “Chill Mode,” with “around twelve days in Turbo Mode.” Ultrahuman's product page also claims “up to 250 days of on-ring storage and up to a year of on-PRO Charger storage” for your data. Sizing. Sizes 5-14, whole sizes only, with a free sizing kit that Ultrahuman says is “Yours to keep and share—no returns required.” Ultrahuman's Ring AIR FAQ says its sizing “differs from other smart rings,” and no brand says its sizes match another's, so use the PRO kit, not your Oura or jewelry size. Phones: data unavailable. We couldn't find the Ring PRO's phone requirements on Ultrahuman's buy page, product page or US FAQ. The only connectivity detail published is Bluetooth “BLE 5.3.” The Ring AIR's requirements are published, but they belong to a different ring, so we won't reuse them. Ask Ultrahuman before you order if you have an older phone.

Build and safety. A titanium unibody (TechTimes notes the exception: “the small resin window housing the optical sensor array”), water-rated to 100 m (328 ft). Ultrahuman's “ProRelease Technology” is designed so the ring can “be cut apart more easily in the event of swelling or injury to the finger.” Our battery swelling guide explains why that matters. Buying one in the US

• Where: Ultrahuman's US store only. We found no Amazon.com listing for the ring, so there's no Amazon return process and we don't earn a commission on it.
• When: “Shipping October 10th onwards,” per the buy page in September 2026, after earlier dates of May 15, June 20 and August 10 were reported.
• Warranty: Ultrahuman's US terms of sale give “12 (twelve) months limited warranty from the date of delivery against defects in materials and workmanship” for “any new Ultrahuman Ring.” The Ring PRO isn't named explicitly (Ultrahuman).
• Returns: the terms name 30-day returns for the Ring AIR and Rare. We couldn't find the Ring PRO's return window. Ask before you pay.
• HSA/FSA: Ultrahuman says its products are “HSA/FSA eligible with Flex.” See our HSA and FSA guide for how that works.

Who should skip it

• Anyone who needs a ring now. It's a pre-order with a ship date that has moved more than once.
• Anyone who wants to buy through Amazon or use Amazon's returns.
• Anyone with an older phone. Ultrahuman doesn't publish the PRO's phone requirements.
• Anyone who wants published accuracy evidence. There's none for this model.
• Anyone who wants legal certainty. Its US entry rests on a Customs ruling the ITC can override.

The alternatives
